Title: Went Back to DIR-655
Post by: vfontjr on April 03, 2012, 11:05:36 AM
Unfortunately, I had to pull the DIR-827 out of my network today and fall back to the DIR-655. Since the firmware upgrade to 1.02, the router will not stay connected to the internet. I need to reboot it at least every 24 hours and depending on the usage, frequently during the day.

What region are you located?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Region: Raleigh, NC

ISP: Time-Warner Cable

Motorola stand-alone Modem:

Software Version: SB5101-2.8.5.0-GA-03-501-NOSH
Hardware Version: 1
MIB Version: II
GUI Version: 1.0

The DIR-655 works fine by the way. No issues whatsoever. The DIR-827 worked fine until the 1.02 firmware update.

FWIW, I performed the router recovery procedure on the DIR-827, reloaded firmware 1.02 and reset eveything back to factory. Even though it appeared I had an internet connection, I couldn't connect to anything.

Try going back to 1.00 FW?
If not, then I would RMA your unit.
