It kicked long enough and than I replaced it with a RT-N56U. It's now the second fastest ranked router :) dam new models releasing. I need to upgrade :( but that can wait.

Just got it's 2nd one last month. Seemed to fix a couple of issues we saw in first couple of versions. Router is very solid. Most routers I've tested out are pretty good for what they are and what I do with them. Not bad.

Cool, Even though  have the Asus one, My favorite router has been the 4500, that display always made me feel cool :) I Miss it :( D link should continue the Gaming routers,  DGL - 4600 extreme low latency gaming killing machine router < Yup that would be the best name -_-!

I know. Going to miss the DGL line man. I always hoped they'd do a DGL-5000, dual band wifi, killer gamefule and such. Oh well. I've been impressed by the DIR-645 and 655 routers as well. Even the DIR-825 holds a candle to the 4500. Was my first DIR series router after the 4500. The 857 is very good too. I Wish they would keep the external antennas though.  ::) All good things come to an end sometime.  :-\

Hey Chris,

How does the asus stack up against the 4500?   I always wondered if I picked the right router when I decided to go with 4500 last year...

Why do you think the 4500 might not have been a good pick for you?

Hey Chris,

I am sorry for such a late reply, I always tend to reply quickly since I get my eMail notification -_-. Problem was that I changed my eMail password on my account and forgot to do the same on my iPhone so I didn't get a notification. Anyways the N56U is ranked the fastest router and it is faster, much more faster than the 4500. Although the 4500 had better tune up and settings, the 56U seems to lack a nice interface and there are no static IP addresses. To put it simply the 56U is faster by a lot, but it is not better in functionality IMO. Have a great day :)
