Found another weird thing with my brand new 826, that worked on dir-655

I made a dhcp reserve for the device i want to setup port forward and virutal server.

When I attempted to setup port forwarding and virutal server. The drop down list under "Computer Name" it did not show the devices i had it's IP reserved. It's showing the list of devices that are not reserved which does not make any sense.

any body has this?

Should i upgrade to 1.02? this early?

Does it work to manually enter or can you enter the IP address of the PC your adding a rule too?

What browser are you using to manage the router?

Try Opera or FF? If you try IE, use compatibility mode.

yes i have manually added the IP and create the rule.

Using FF and chrome,

But dont you think that's a bug? , i know the workaround is what we did.

Is the devices online or OFF when you look at the drop down?

Does IE do the same thing?

Hi no the device were all online , yes tried with ie 8 as well samething kinda annoying as it defeits the purpose of reserving list if you can use them for rules .

2nd day no reboots yet with netflix streaming and wifi , kinda lookin to one of the hd fuel routers to exchange this still dlink fan here 😃

As my main beef was dir 655 havin issues with hd streaming so i upgraded not sure if i made the right choice yet

Possible this could be a FW issue.

You could try a FW update and see.
You game any or just general internet and streaming?

Yes i'll try the FW update to 1.02 but how's your experience with 1.02?

I do COD PS3, Netflix, Youtube, internet , Mail,

FTP, Webserver,

No experience with a 826L yet. I only have the 865L. Great router BTW. Trying to figure out hot to set up multiple game consoles on it using the new QoS engine. It's different from some of the other DIR series routers.

between Amplify and Cloud Router what are the difference. Is Cloud Router next gen? and Amplify routers are going to be phase out?

Wanted to invest in something that's not gonna be phased out , I was looking at this D-Link DIR-827, HD Media Router 2000,

But could not find a comparison , maybe from your experience i can decide better

Main difference is you have Cloud options via MyDlink.com for any DIR-###L router. Most of the other options like Storage, Media services and stuff like that are common across both lines. Some do not have DLNA and or iTune services, while others do.

Not sure exactly when any series model router will hit EOL since we don't have that kind of information. The Amplifi line as only been going for about 2 years now and presume it will last a few more. Hard to say. Most of the popular lines of Xtreme N routers are still going from 5-6 years ago. Mainly the popular ones like the 825, 655 and 615. Most of the other series routers have hit EOL from that line. I presume that once the next gen routers seen at CES will be released, more of the older Xtreme N routers might hit EOL, thus putting the Amplify line closer. Still, should be a couple of years or more before that happens. I can't wait to get my hands on the 5500 though. Been told, "It's a beautiful thing!"  I don't have the 827, however have the 857, 657 and 645. Been a great routers for me and the house hold. Very solid. Seen issues from other users and that has been mostly configuration and external environment caused. I still prefer external antennae vs internal. The WiFi range is pretty good for being internal. However for my needs I also have 2 extra WiFi AP running for good coverage on both Radios. Eventually I'm going to have 4 extra once the new addition to the house is completed. I do have the 865L as well and pretty impressed by it. I still need to get and AC WiFi adapter to test out the new connection speeds. I think I will wait a bit long till DLink comes up with a LAN wired based AC AP for that though.  Going to need something now that the DGL is appearing again. Sure glad they decided to do a follow on. The 4500 was a great router. Hope the 5500 is even better.
But could not find a comparison , maybe from your experience i can decide better

One thing I forgot to mention, the Amplifi line is pretty much the same as far as options goes and each one having the same. The only thing that I notice is that the 657 doesn't have some of the extra media features like iTunes and Storage however it does support DLNA, while the 827 and 857 have all the extra media features that the 657 doesn't, the only big differences between the 827 and 857 is I believe the Wifi, the 827 supports 450Mb connections while the 827 does not. The 657 is a 2.4Ghz 300Mb WiFi only router while the 8 series are both 2.4 and 5ghz.
