DAP 1320 Goes offline every X hours. HELP!!!!
« on: May 24, 2015, 02:23:24 AM »

Hi,

I need some help with this.
I have a DAP 1320 repeater, Hardware A2 Firware 1.20
It connects good to my router. and it works fine. But after a couple of hours if I want to connect to it using (as usual) my phone or Ipad, i canīt  connect to it anymore.
The light is green. It shows clearly on my Wifi scanner that the DAP 13210 is present.
Now when I take it out of the socket and plug it back in (1-2 seconds handling) you can connect back to it without problems.

For extra testing I left the configuration of the DAP 1320 as it came. I just changed the passwored with 1 number.
My router has both MAC addresses of it in the whitelist, so I am sure it isnīt a problem of the router, as it works perfectly when you disconnect it and connect it again. It is just that after a couple of hours it seems to lock up.
It is very strange and I canīt figure out what the problem is.
I saw on Amazon that somebody also had this problem, but it never said how it was solved or if he trown away his repeater.

If anybody knows what it is, please tell me.

Oh yes, my model is European

Link>Welcome!

  • What Mfr and Model is the main host router?/li]

What mode is the DAP working in? AP or Range extender?

    Wireless Configurations
Links>Wireless Installation Considerations and Managing Signal Congestion and Good Neighbour Policy
    • Ensure the default (dlink) SSID name is changed. Ensure that different SSID names are used between each WiFi 2.4/5Ghz radios. Can be anything and not something that's already in use by any neighbouring WiFi routers. Under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
    • What wireless modes are you using?
    • 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
    • Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
    • Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear. 13 for EU regions.
    • What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto TPIK and AES.
    • What wireless devices do you have connected?
    • Ensure any devices with WiFi adapter drivers are updated.
    • Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by that maybe causing interferences?
    • Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many? Use v3, its free.

Hi,

First of all thank ypu for helping me.
My router is a  NUCOM.
MODEL : R5010UNv2
The DAP is used as a repeater.

I did some extra tests/changes. And the latest is that I changed to channel from 3 to 13. Looking with Wifi Analyser app I noticed that none of the neighbours is using the 13 channel. And also I changed the place of the DAP closer to the router. Although it was first at a point where I know that the wifi signal would reach, as I have there also an Apple TV Iinstalled. But just to test it out I put the DAP close to the router. Still that I can receive enough signal at the place where I need it.
For now it seems to hold. But I can tell more tomorow if it is like that.
Maybe it blocks when it looses the signal from the router? I don't know.

All the other things I will try the next days, because I believe I have them all already set up, like the Mkz, N,.... Amd I see the comment on channel 13 for europe.
Maybe it is indeed that, because my router is wifi using N.
Hopefully it is that.
I will keep you updated!

Any help from your side is welcome!!

Thanks again for helping!

Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N if you don't have any need for modes A or B.

Hope it keeps working. Keep us posted.  ;)
