Oh ya...I plan on the 6120 for sure...ya was online the night I got it months back, he watch me and it to see it it would work. Wouldn't Sync up. Oh well. I need to send off another email asking when 3.0 is being turned on. I've asked 2 times already, that was 6-8 months ago. They said they were close to going public. Yaaa.  :-\

CableOne, Boise Idaho

Hmm, you might want to try contacting this person:

http://www.dslreports.com/useremail/u/1

He is the Mod for the Cable One Forum on DSLReports. I checked Cable One's site, news blog, local news site, but didnt see anything. They have problems with Usages Cap, are decent with upgrading their Tiers, have some growing pains, but all in all keep under the radar as far as ISP's go. I don't know anyone that works for them, so can't get you any inside knowledge, but did see in a financial report that sales of DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS equipment picked up in Idaho by like 300% in the last 2 years, so SOMEone is doing some upgrading. Sorry I couldnt find out anything more. Oh, and also the 6120 is on their accepted modem list, so thats good.

Well now that the 6120 is posted as being supported on there web site now. I guess I will call them up and see if it will work in my area. That post has only been in the last month or 2. I looked earlier this year and wasn't on there. They have been going something because I have noticed several down times in the last couple of months and how do i know this? They actually admitted the down times and has given me a discount certificate in my email just the other day. Mentioned that there upgrades have gone well and not so well and apologized for the down time.

So I will look into this this weekend. Might be able to hook up a 6120,  ;D

I would suggest Firmware SB6120-1.0.1.7-SCM00-NOSH. Some of the other SCM01 and 02 are still buggy. 1.0.3 may be better, but I have yet to test it. Alot of it has to do with how much support they have at the head end. Make sure they keep your old modem on the account so you can swap back easily enough incase it has issues.

I thought cable modem firmware was controlled by the ISP, even if its your own?  I had always heard when resetting they will update the latest firmware they support.

It is controlled by the ISP. I work for my ISP  8)

But seriously, you can go on the forums at DSLReports, find your ISP's boards, find the list of approved employees (should be a stickey) and PM them. Usually all they need is your MAC address(AKA your HFC MAC address) which can be found on a sticker on the bottom of your modem. If your ISP does not have any offical employees on DSLReports, then you can call your ISP and ask them. But the adverage Rep won't have any idea what your talking about and/or won't have access to upgrade it. You can ask for Tier2 or something, but your better off checking their support site and trying to find a email. You usally get better answers from people who aren't trying to keep down their adverage handle time. Hehe.

Also, it should be noted that usually the most up to date "approved" firmware gets loaded when you start your modem. I say usually because sometimes it doesn't. Also, approved doesn't mean newest.  There is a whole certification process between the manufacture releasing it and the ISP adapting it to their network and testing it. And firmware that kicks arse in one market of one ISP, might suck for another ISP, or even for a different market(town, state, etc) for that same ISP.

By any chance that ISP might be cablevision or time warner :(?
