some new discovery……
usb devices plugged into the router's usb3 port becomes extremely hot (compared to when plugged in a pc)
seems all flash devices plugged into will be effected
i've noticed this before, with some metal flash disks, i didn't thought it's a bug though
but i just got my finger hurt when removing a multi-card reader without a case, the chip was excessively hot, so i'm here again
the reader wasn't damaged at all, and it acted much cooler on my pc
i plugged into the router again and found the reader heats hard in less then 5 secs, although it can perform normally
the reader is connected with a cable so it can't be the router's heat
this problem doesn't seem to happen with the rear usb2 port

Can you list for us the Mfr and model of these USB drives your using?

Please do not connect any more USB devices to the router.

I'll be sure to have D-Link support review this tomorrow.

Sandisk Cruzer CZ73
A generic multicard reader using rts5309
kingston DTSE9 G2
aigo U360 (pretty sure this is not sold in the US)
it might occur on other usb3 devices, these drives use metal cases so i can tell it for sure

Are these are USB 3.0 devices or is any of them USB 2.0?

i put my PC in the highest priority field, 2 phones into high, and i tested sharing with my PC without the phones connected
Sharing speeds gets exactly the same with the Download/Upload Speeds field
problem solved after resetting
Setting QoS up can re-produce the speed cap, and it blocks sharing access unless i restart samba/ftp sharing or reboot
speeds returns normal just after disabling (without reboot or service restart)
Please clarify..
So disabling and enabling QoS, affects the download/upload speeds via SAMBA?
Issue is resolved by rebooting the client computer accessing the Samba/FTP server?
Nope
i'll have to restart the router or reconfigure sharing services or replug my disk after activating QoS, or i can't access sharing
activating QoS will limit sharing speeds via both samba and ftp, exactly the speed entered in QoS settings
the first is not reproducable, please just ignore it
for the second, if i set my download speed to 10Mbps, sharing speeds wil be limited to 900kBps
if i set it to 50Mbps, sharing speeds wil be limited to about 4.8MBps
when i set it to 70Mbps, it's about 6.5MBps
the limits dissapear when QoS is off
I'm able to replicate with a 32GB USB thumb drive with only FTP enabled. I will report this to our dev team to further investigate.
The engineers state that this is part of its design. Once QoS is activated any traffic coming in/out from WAN or USB is filtered.

Hi,

BUG :

I use the DIR-882 in only switch and access point WIFI (not WLAN RJ45) with DHCP disabled and it works properly.
Except the Wifi 'GUEST ZONE', the customer can connect but not access to internet or lan : Limited Connection on Wifi SSID.

Not a bug! Guest Zone main code depends on use of the WAN port. So when you configure the 882 for LAN to LAN AP mode, Guest Zone is not functional in this configuration. Guest Zone resides on the WAN side of the router.

That's for when in router mode, Guest Zone may have access the internet and LAN side resources.

The update and feature will be forth coming in the FW update. No timeframe when that is coming and D-Link doesn't give this information out when FW updates will be forth coming. Please be patient. Keep an eye on the download site is the best thing you can do.

Bug: Scheduled wifi not working
« Reply #27 on: July 09, 2019, 06:46:17 AM »

It seems that whenever I try to enable a schedule for one of the wireless networks (2.4GHz or 5GHz), that network is immediately turned off, even if we are well outside the scheduled times. The router's clock seems to be on the right time (using the default, D-Link NTP server. Anyone else noticing this? Any known workarounds? My FW is 1.20

How do you have the schedule configured? Cna you post a picture if your schedule?
Adding Screenshots In A Post

Is the rows highlighted yellow for the times you want the wifi enabled?
What happens if you highlight everything in yellow, as a temporary test, does the wifi work. Then try everything not highlighted and wifi should be all disabled.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since the update yet?
