very unstable performance

alvarotester:
I have a brand new 1873 - 3 units
I also have an almost new laptop running "Killer(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX1650x 160MHz Wireless Network Adapter (200NGW)" Driver FW 22.70.0.6

The 3 satellites are connected via CAT6 ethernet and on 3 different corners of my house with little overlap
My laptop is usually less than 3m from the nearest satellite. It used to work fine with a TPLINK Deco M5 at the same locations

Unfortunately, it now very unstable with the 1873. I can see the Wifi signal hops from the nearest satellite ( full bar ) to the next ( almost none ) so my connection keeps dropping. I have set "Roaming Aggressiveness" to lowest and "Transmit power" to lowest but it still decided I should stay on the very weak satellite which is more than 15m away. I have played with more settings and nothing works... including the default.

On further debug, I noticed the 2.4G is on 2 different channels - Ch 1 and 6 and 5G on the lowest Ch 34-38 and lowest BW. Clearly my laptop is not happy with. Double checked on my TPLINK Deco M5... All 2.4G was on the same Ch 6 and 5G was on Ch149 ( the other end ), BW is maxing at 865Mbps. I understand your choice may be to optimise range as lower freq tends to do longer distance... but one setting is clearly not working for all.

I recall Dlink is famous for giving control to their user with lots of setting to play with... I need more control on where the 5G band, its BW, etc. Happy to try out new FW fix as well

Any help?

FurryNutz:
Are the B points connected directly to the back of the A point or is there a LAN switch in between them?

What is the distances between the A point and B points?

alvarotester:
All Satellites ( B ) connected directly to the LAN ports of the Master via Cat6 ethernet.

The A and B are around 25m+ apart

FurryNutz:
Is the A point in router mode?
What happens when you remove all B points accept for 1.

alvarotester:
A is now a router connected directly the NBN modem.

A router by itself is OK. AS soon as I have 2 Bs... very unstable. They are acting like they are 3 different SSID but with the same name and conflicting with each other some how.
After 2 days, I noticed not only my laptop but most of my other 40+ devices have issue... especially those in between 2 points. I think the fact that the points are all on different channels make thing worst... Most devices do not work well when the same SSID is on different channels...And it is kicked between the channels

I will give it another few days...because returning it...When is the new FW expected?
