Is anyone aware if it is possible to record to an external hard drive using the DCS-5009L camera? The camera itself does not have a slot for a micro sd card. I am aware that you can record from the app but what I'm trying to achieve is continuous all day recording. The camera is currently mounted inside our ducks' house. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the feedback. I am not familiar with either of these. With the "DNR storage device", could you please briefly explain how it's setup? (Meaning, how it's connected either to router, camera, etc).

This would be installed on a PC. Cameras would be connected to a wifi router along with the PC.

Pretty sure I'm doing it. Trying to check to make sure it's still working, and document it for you. Be back asap.

Well, it *was* working, so now I have to look into what's gone wrong.
Is your HD a network-attached HD, by any chance, on which you have the ability to turn on FTP? That's how I'm doing it -- the 5009 allows for motion detect triggered video to an FTP location, so I just ftp it to my network drive that way.
I can give more details once I find out what failed, IF you can do FTP...
