I've been using a dgl4500 since July 08 and apart from the fw problems it's been pretty decent for a consumer grade router.  D-link sent me an a2 last summer to replace the a1 that went awry with the 1.2x fw.  If I wanted a new router right now though I think that I'd wait a bit and see what new models loom on the horizon first.  Go to any consumer grade router forum and you will see problems with their models.
