How do I enable motion detected pictures to be emailed?
« on: September 09, 2013, 09:49:23 PM »

Hi, I've been trying to figure out the proper email setting to get pictures from the motion detection feature emailed to me with no luck. Under advanced settings, setup, mail, there are 7 lines under "e-mail account" that need to be filled out, smtp server address, smtp server port, sender e-mail address, receiver e-mail address, user name, password, use ssl-tls/starttls (no) (ssl-tls) (starttls). Does anyone know what the proper settings are to type for each of these options to get this to work? I'm using a live.ca email account that is now a outlook.com account but I still log in using live.ca. Thanks alot

Also, after I send a test email, when I check under status, it keeps telling me Can not connect to smtp server.

No, the email functionality is not limited to gmail, that was simply an example.

I tried every different setting I could with no luck on the live.ca account, so I made a gmail account, followed the video, and instant success, works like a charm, so thank you very much for that. If anyone out there has this working successfully with a live.ca account, please reply. And thanks again for your help here.

Have you tried other ports (other than 587)?
