Enable Guest account
« on: June 09, 2014, 12:44:44 AM »

I am probably having a vague moment, but I cannot work out how to add a guest account.

My DNS-345 is used to hold media, and I would like my XBMC clients to be able to read the data without having to authenticate. I have had a good look through the device but unable to locate the options.

Has anyone been able to setup a guest account for network sharing?

Cheers

So it took a few weeks, and D-Link needed to confirm with 3 levels of help-desk but I have an answer.  Apparently the DNS-345 does not have the functionality to enable a guest/public share that doesn't require authentication.

Am I alone in thinking that this is ridiculous? I know this is an entry level device but this is some of the most basic functionality of a file server!
