wifi slow to connect or limited connection
« on: July 27, 2013, 01:05:51 PM »

Just installed a 605L the other day. Previously I had a dir 615, and it quit.

Sometimes, not always, the wifi is slow (about 30-45 seconds) to connect or it says something about a "limited connection" in the task bar. This usually happens, I think when they come out of sleep mode.

It happens on both of our two laptops in our home, they are different brands of laptops, and on both  Vista Home Premium is the OS.

This never happened on the 605L router, only happening on the new one (605L).

When I set up the router, I did not make any changes in factory defaults, anywhere, except for the name that it broadcasts.

I have downloaded and installed inSIDDER3 to check out my signal strength, and for conflicts with the neighbors' routers, and everything seems fine there.

I am puzzled. Is there a magic setting in my router to fix this?
Help is appreciated.
