Please help - Can not connect to SMTP server
« on: July 22, 2014, 05:12:13 PM »

I've spent hours on this. I've searched this Forum, and D-Links site, and it looks like I've done it right.
I've included my settings below. I've tried dozens of combinations. Quintuple checked everything. Even tried wiping the slate and carefully retyping everything. The Email Test response under Status is "Can not connect to SMTP server"

E-MAIL ACCOUNT
 SMTP Server Address       smtp.gmail.com
 SMTP Server Port            587                  (also tried 465)
 Sender E-mail Address       myname@gmail.com
 Receiver E-mail Address    myname@gmail.com
 User Name                       myname
 Password                       *********
 Use SSL-TLS/STARTTLS    STARTTLS

I've got the box checked for Enable the emailing of images to an email account.
I've tried choosing Always and Motion Detection

Tried with all the following:
DCS=930L
DCS=5020L
DCS-5010L

I also spent an hour with phone support with no luck so far. They've escalated me, but I need to call in again.

Any suggestions are appreciated. But I can't imagine what hasn't been tried. We've reinstalled, shut off all firewalls and antivirus, .... They last asked if I could try a different pc, but I don't have one.  This one is a Samsung Notebook with Windows 7.

When it gets resolved I'll share the result.
