Lost Raid 5 volume "No Volume Detect"
« on: October 25, 2010, 01:36:09 PM »

Similar to this thread.

I have had my DNS-343 running for over a year. Two months ago I added two more drives to take it up to a 4-disk RAID 5 array. Each drive is a Seagate 1.5TB drive. They are identical and I confirmed the firmware was the latest before building the array. It has run flawlessly for two months.

Suddenly I have nothing.

The display shows "Temperature" but I just let it cool for an hour and all parts are cool to the touch. If I press Next I see "No Volume Detect".

Why did I bother with RAID5? If I lose everything anyway I might as well have been using a 6TB configuration!

How can I get my data back? Can D-Link help?
