Title: DSL-2890AL
Post by: dspark on October 30, 2016, 04:40:01 AM
I have a DSL-2890AL router and I'm attempting to set up some rules to allow my children to only access certain websites on their devices. I've seen a lot of people talking about blocking sites or keywords by selecting the "DENY computers access to ONLY these sites" option, however I want to use the alternative option "ALLOW computers access to ONLY these sites" so that I can select just a couple of websites that they can access.

I've added two websites to the Website Filter page:
juniorsafesearch.com
youtube.com

In Access Control I've ticked the Enable Access Control option and then added a policy with the following options:
Schedule: Always
Machine: 4 IP addresses were inserted here
Method: Block Some Access
Apply Web Filter: Yes
Apply Advanced Port Filters: No
Web Access Logging: Enabled

This does not appear to work. I'm able to access any website on the selected devices. The only way I can have any kind of blocking work is if I change the Method to "Block All Access" which is obviously not practical.

Apologies if I've left out any critical information or if there is already a relevant forum (I couldn't find one). Can anyone please help me?

Do you have a Modem menu feature called DNS Relay?
