COVR 1203 & COVR 2202 TOGETHER
« on: October 21, 2018, 06:13:34 AM »

HI,
I have the COVR 1203.  I was told that the COVR 2202 also is compatible with the 1203, So I bought that under the impression I could add it all together .  I cannot for the life of me get the 2202 system to talk to the 1203 system.  It shows up in the app sometimes , but when a speed test is done it really isn't doing anything , full signal strength from the 2202 node but nothing.

I wanted to use the 2202 for the main living room - 2 Unit - Router + 1 Included 2202 node,  then add the 3 COVR 1202 units to the network extending the COVR network to the rest of the house.  So, total of 5 units (2 x COVR 2202, 3 x COVR 1203) can this work or can you only use the 2 out of 3 node units (1203) (not the Point A router)

Ethernet-----2202 Router -------2202 Node --------1203 Router --------1203 node --------1203 node       , is this possible ?

The app every time wants me to unplug and setup a new network, there isn't an option to just add the extra nodes/routers to the system.

I tried the WPS from node to Router A and it shows on the app, but it isn't actually repeating/extending anything.

Appreciate any help .  There is little information on what is actually compatible between the branded COVR units, if the different series aren't compatible then that would be extremely disappointing as thats why I bought it.

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Ah no, there not compatible with each other...
You could run the Routers behind one or the other, however you would have two wired networks, and two separate MESH wifi SSIDs however. This is not ideal nor recommended.

How big is your home. I have both and separately, the COVR systems work well in a 5000sq ft home. 40 feet in between the main Point and the remote point.

Just curious, where did you purchase the 2202? Did not realized this is sold to the public yet. Being sold in Australia and some Asian markets.

What firmware is on the 2202?
