Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?
  • Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

If you can, reset now and use default settings so it's easier to remember. Seems like this was a user configuration issue.

I would update the FW as well to the most current version using the following:
FW Update Process

I have a Rev A 815 and it's a pretty good little router. After installing v1.04 on it, it's good.

Reason that it's costs for support is that the router is not with in it's warranty support period. Most Mfrs have a fee based support for out of warranty support. Warranty support is only 90 days I believe. If it's been a year then fee bases will come into play. However forum support is free. So feel free to come back and visit here first before contacting D-Link on the phone. Problems are generally easy to find and fix here.

I have several D-Link routers and they are work well including this one. Don't be dissuaded from D-Link just because your router is out of warranty.  ::)
