Playback DNR-322L Rev B playback on a MAC
« on: November 30, 2017, 05:46:44 AM »

I have a DNR-322L Rev. B with 6 cameras which replaced an A version. It has the latest firmware v3.01.04. It was easy to set up and works very well except for an issue accessing the playback data.

On an iPhone or iPad I can access all the playback data over all 24 hours and every day. The same is true using a Windows 10 PC via Internet Explorer. No problem, all the data is there, visible and can be accessed.

HOWEVER, I use Macs, both fixed and portable. When I access the DNR-322L with a Mac either via the D-Link portal or directly using the IP address, I can only see the first 7 or 8 hours recording on most days. It is usually from midnight to around 07:00 or 08:00 but it varies. On some days, about every three weeks I can suddenly see all, or nearly all the data for one day. Then it reverts to the first 7 or 8 hours again.

I am using all versions of the OS (El Capitan, Sierra and High Sierra) and of Safari (11.0.1), and have also tried it with a pre 52 version of Firefox. I have tried Macs with different languages (French and English) for the OS and the browsers but it makes no difference. I have tried every configuration I can think of but they are all exactly the same. I cannot see the data for more than the first 7 or 8 hours each day.

I logged my problem with the D-Link Self Service Portal on the 14th of June 2017 and to begin with they reacted to say that it was a known problem with non English language software. Then they said that the problem had been solved with the update to Safari 11. I sent them screen shots to show that the problem remained and they replied with a screen shot showing the full 24 hours recording. Since then they do not reply to my messages.

Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, have they found the cause?
I have come to the conclusion that it must be a firmware problem and that all Mac users must be experiencing the same problem.

I would really appreciate some help.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. The US offers Chat support for consumer products at support.dlink.com. 24/7. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Thank you for your feedback.

I have a ticket open with my regional support. Initially they said:

"We can reproduce the issue and have forwarded it to our R&D. There are a lot of people with this issue since it is not only isolated to French it is in all non English language settings. But R&D is still investigating why only the first channel is affected by this issue and why it is not present in an English system setting."

Then they said that "the problem is solved with the recent Safari upgrade to version 11".

Unfortunately, it is not solved for me. In fact, I have the same problem if I use an old, pre 52 version of Firefox and also if I use a Mac with the English language 10.13 High Sierra OS and English language Safari browser. It really seems to me that the issue is not related to language or browser.

i am a bit at my wits end and very interested to know if other users are experiencing the same problem.

I will phone regional support and see what happens.

I will keep you informed.
