Title: Vista Drivers
Post by: sdunnin on September 23, 2009, 10:01:06 AM
I've seen this question asked in other D-Link forums but not really with a good answer.

Latest driver listed for the 343 is (1.01   Vista 32, Vista 64    - 9/22/2009)

What additional functionality do the Vista drivers provide? Are they compatible with Windows 7?

So, does anyone at D-Link know what this driver provides ???

It just adds LLTD support.

In addition it can install up to 4 volumes (based on what is configured on the NAS).

Thanks, I had to look up LLTD because I didn't know what it was http://tinyurl.com/y9sbjsx. I'm guessing that means volumes on the 343 can be discovered or mapped without having to use the Easy Search Utility?

Correct.

So how do I use them? The download is a zip file with a couple of dll's and no install instructions. I am able to see my 343 Volume in the network section of Windows Explorer in Win7. Without doing anything it discovered the NAS. Maybe I really don't need the driver anyway?

Thanks,
Steve

Its not a 'needed' item but it makes the icon pretty and what not. You should be able to right click on the icon in network (the nas UPNP ICON) and select install. You may need to enable LLTD first on the NAS.
