DCS8200LH motion detection not working
« on: June 22, 2017, 02:28:11 AM »

Hi,

just finished to set my camera and downloaded the application for iphone mydlink home but I noticed that motion detection is not working.

I followed the instruction from manual, assigned action to motion detection as send email or push notification.. please note I havent put any microSD.

Just want that once camera see a movement I get an email or a push notification, not needed to record. I dont have the motion detection device as I think the camera can recognise movements, isnt it?

Firmware 1.02

Thanks

Regards,

Giuseppe

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What sensitivity do you have the camera set for? Try to raise the sensitivity gradually.

Would need to set up email on the camera to push email notifications:
Setting up email on DCS series cameras FAQ

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
Also will need the Mfr and model of the ISP modem? Confirm it's a modem only or does it have a built in router as well?

I have a modem router, model is Technicolor TG588V, not a good product..however UPNP is enabled, static IP

Got the link you posted, but I dont understand where you put these settings as in DLINK home APP you cannot configure at all email.

Anotherthing I noticed, ok email is not working and even push notification, do I need to enable app background refresh on Iphone?

Many thanks,

Beppe

Is .64 what you found on the routers client connection page for the camera?
Should open the page if thats the correct IP address.

Might review the user manual for this camera and check web page access information and configuration.

Ok, I'm not too familiar with this camera. It may not have UI access...
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. Reference this forum thread if needed. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Once you configure motion detection, you need to create a new action. Under the camera select Motion Detection as the trigger and then you can select multiple responders including send email and send notification. This action will (should) send an email and/or notification when your camera's motion detection is triggered.

Pages 23-26 in the USA manual shows how to do this --> ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DCS-8200LH/REVA/DCS-8200LH_REVA_MANUAL_1.00_EN_US.PDF

Email will be sent to your mydlink email address. Notifications will be sent to device running the mydlink home app.

greenBay is exactly what I have done, but doesnt send neither an email or push notifiction.
On motion detection send email, send push notification and record on SD, it just record on SD card..

IOS APP background refresh is on. Camera has been reset twice just on case.
