DIR-605L how to turn off the firewall?
« on: March 17, 2017, 02:40:24 AM »

I have small network and one computer needs to be accessed from outside location.
We have tried some solutions and none of them worked.
Computer technician told us then that we need to disable firewall on our dlink router.
I have read the manual but it says something about adding computers to dmz.
Can anyone help me with turning off the firewall?

Thanks.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?
  • Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
  • Has a Factory Reset been performed?
  • Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?
  Link> >FW Update Process
  • Was the router working before any firmware updates?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Does the user manual or look in the routers web page for anything regarding Firewall or SPI?
