Title: DIR 605L emule port configuration
Post by: pacabba on January 27, 2013, 01:45:43 AM: As from the Subject I'd like to know how I have to configure 605l and emule to avoid low id.

Post by: FurryNutz on January 27, 2013, 10:40:34 AM: If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
Double NAT (http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm)
To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.
If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.

Post by: Hard Harry on January 27, 2013, 03:42:53 PM: Ok, then you first have to bridge you modem, because actually has a router built into it. I would contact your ISP about that. 2 routers=low ID unless one is bridged or you do some very fancy configuring, and even then its less then ideal.

You might try using Virtual Server options as well.

Might see if someone can help you via Teamviewer to review your router settings maybe.

You'll need to refer to the modem mfr or user manual for this modem to see if there is any brigding information or ask your ISP if they can help you fully bridge the modem to the router. This usually requires the use of PPPoA or PPPoE user name and password account information that needs to be entered on the 605L router under Setup/Internet/Manual/Connection Type.

If it can't be bridged, then try to attempt to input the WAN IP address the 605L gets from the modem into the ISP Modems DMZ?
