DCS-7000L live website view
« on: March 31, 2017, 01:54:35 AM »

Hello,

after reading topics:

http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=50290.0
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=52483.0
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=50319.msg185900#msg185900

I am still quite not sure about how to get my WAN ip. I have registered and verified product on cloud, camera is woking fine in our local network and in the cloud.

I own website and all I want is that everyone in the world could see live view of this camera. I am really newbie in this kind of settings so any link to video guide or something like that will be really appreciated.
Or maybe text guides in the advanced settings like dhcp off, static ip settings, enable UPnP presentation? enable UPnP port forwarding? Which port? PPPOE SETTINGS? http? https? rtsp? cos? qos? ipv6? bonjour?

But the most important question right now, is that is it necessary to have public IP in network which is camera connected to? Because I have dynamic IP.

Or is there a easiest way how to set up what I am trying to do? Like link camera via youtube live or something like that?

Many, really many thanks for any help!

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Make sure you configure a single NAT condition for your camera. Modem should be a modem only and use a external router or a modem with a built in router and do not use a external router.

Good Luck.

I quite not understand your suggestion in latest reply  :-[  I am unfortunately newbie in this kind of network settings  :(

But I need to ask anyway, I am trying to add live website view, so I need to add this code:

Code: [Select]
<tr><div class="box">
          <TABLE BORDER=0 CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0>
          <tr><td bgcolor=black > <font color=white> CameraName <BR></font>
          </td></tr> </TABLE>
          <iframe src="http://myWANip:port#/video.cgi" width="640" height="480"
          class="smart_sizing_iframe noresize" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" ></iframe>
          </div></tr>

This part is what I need to figure out: <iframe src="http://myWANip:port#/video.cgi"

How to get my WAN IP and port, if I have dynamic IP. I do some research and could it be done with registering and paying DDNS service?

Or public IP is really not needed?

Yes a DDNS service would be something worth looking into. As long as the hosting site is not on a private LAN or something like that.
