Problem getting FTP to work as on DCS-2132LB
« on: July 16, 2017, 11:38:42 AM »

Hi,

I run a setup with 2 cameras

1. DCS-2132LB rev A, FW: 2.13
2. DCS-2230L rev A, FW: 1.02
a Synology server acting as FTP destination for recordings

Both cameras with cabled connection.
Both working fine in terms of live video.
Both with identical event setup.
But this is where the identical stuff stops. As the 2132 is working fine. When I test FTP connection it reports Test OK.
When I test FTP on the 2230L, it returns TEST Error.

On my synology server the FTP login attempt doesn't even show up. And I know that the connection is valid, as I use the same on the 2130L.

Running out of ideas... help please.

Try a root directory. Some of these dlink cams require \ and other use /.
Some of these dlink cams can only handle regular A-Z and 0-9 in the password. Try something simple.

Try setting up an FileZilla FTP server on your PC and see if that works.
Or put in a HDD in your USB port on your router and setup that FTP and see if that works.

Else the F/W might be faulty.
