WBR 2310 Disconnecting
« on: March 27, 2008, 09:57:25 AM »

I am also getting this.  Under XP, I get the message a network cable is unplugged and the second of my four green lights on the sppedtouch modem goes out.

It will later reconnect on its own.

I am wondering if it is the modem becoming flaky or a fault with the 2310 Router.

I am using Firmware 1.02

Suggestions please.

Try a few things first to see where the fault may lie.

1) disconnect the router entirely and test your connection with only your modem for a period of time to see if the disconnects still happen.

2) If #1 is ok, then you may want to consider updating your firmware to 1.04 and see if that helps improve the connection.

3) if you have other computers, try using them wired to the router and see if they disconnect too, and possibly see if wireless disconnects at the same time.  Make sure you do #2 and update firmware though.

Hi,
I had some issues with this router also...  I would suggest firmware 1.03 ...  You can see complete configuration in the thread about rebooting...

Hoping you'll get your router working properly...

Hello;

I to had the same problem with my Dlink WBR 2310.  It would disconnect during downloading or when another computer logged into the network or when it was raining.  :'(

But I found a rock solid solution.

The solution that worked for me.........updated the DLink WBR 2310 with DI-624 firmware version 4.04 dated Mon, 14 July 2008.

That was one month ago with no resets!!!!!!

I would recomend this upgrade to all. :D

You'll find the DI-624 firmware here:
http://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/Router/DI-624/Firmware/Rev%20D/
(save the file that ends with ".bin".)

Howcome this firmware is not on the DLink download list we see here in North America?

That site you quote is a .ru - Russia I think - spam likely ???

See:

If the Russian site is worrysome try this link:

Does using the Russian firmware change the writing in the GUI?  :o  and also, I would think it would void the warranty. :-\

I am currently testing the Russian Firmware and it seems to be working well so far (2 days heavy wireless testing).  The interface is the same as any regular DI-624 and in english.  You should be able for flash back to WRB firmware at any time, but I haven't tested going back to WBR firmware yet.

Cheers

I have been using the Russian Firmware now for about a month with no problems.

The interface is in english.  Looks the same as the DI-624

Yes you can flash back to a WBR-2310.  I tried but then switched back to the Russian Firmware becasue it is more stable.

This firmware saved me some money because I was going to buy a Linksys Router to  replace this flakey WBR-2310 or should I say a DI-624 in disguise.

With the Russian firmware, the Wireless seems to be much more stable, however, the DHCP server still seems to fail.  Static IP addresses on the clients work fine though.

Is this firmware compatible with B1 (RevB) models of the WBR-2310?
