Use DSL-2740B to share internet connection.
« on: April 29, 2013, 11:58:11 AM »

I would like to be able to have a setup like:
Generic Router (192.168.2.1)---(Wireless)---Computer---(Wired)---DSL-2740B (192.168.1.1)---(Wired)---(Laptop)
I'm not sure how to do this or if it's even possible.  ???
All help and advice is appreciated, Thanks!  ;D

Only supported connection method is the following for DSL Modems:
DSL Phone line>DLink DSL modem>wired and wireless client devices.

Thanks for the very quick reply ;D
What would be the best solution for my problem as I want to have wireless between the computer and the laptop?

What region are you located?

I would recommend something similar to the following instead of using the DSL modem as an AP:
D-Link DAP 1360, 1513, 1522, 1525, 1533 series are some of the home and small business class devices.
D-Link DIR-865L, 505, 505L, and 506L

You need something to either work as an main host AP or something that you can bridge to your already running wireless main host AP or router. Most of these products can do AP or Bridge mode.
