firmware update by Mac user
« on: September 02, 2011, 06:35:20 PM »

The firmware update went smoothly

The mydlink service quit accessing the camera,
until I download and ran the updated Mac version of the "mydlink Setup Utility v1.0.06_07272011"

Seems as if the camera is more stable; ping times are more consistently low.

Seems as if it is harder to access the pics using http://xxxx/mjpeg.cgi, http://xxxx/video.cgi,
    but http://xxxx/image/jpeg.cgi grabs quickly

Did this update resolve the issue reported on your other thread (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=41101.0)?

In the first message above I noted that "Seems as if it is harder to access the pics using http://x.x.x.x/mjpeg.cgi, http://x.x.x.x/video.cgi,  but http://x.x.x.x/image/jpeg.cgi grabs quickly"
For the last several days, the DCS-930L is EXTREMELY flakey and unresponsive to ALL viewing modes, including LiveVideo (http://x.x.x.x/jview.htm) and mydlink.
Sometimes re-powering it brings it up; sometimes requires several kicks.
And, http://x.x.x.x/image/jpeg.cgi does not "grab quickly", it is quite slow to load (seconds) regardless of browser used.

By comparison, the DCS-932L has been quite accessible (however, it has its' own problems with motion detection + ftp file flooding).

I think I'm going to request an RMA on the 930 and hope to get a better one, although I'm afraid it's the firmware.
