Issue with ftp server

Hi. I recently bought the DNS-343. I can access the ftp via the network IP address. When i type ftp://192.168.1.60:3000 it prompts me for user name and password and I log in without a problem. But when I do ftp://98.14.32.2:3000 which is my external ip address, it prompts me for the user name and password, but when I put it in, it just says page cannot be displayed. Can someone help me with this issue?

PS: when I try to leave the port fowarding to port 21, the logging prompt doesn't even show up on the external ip one, but it works fine on the internal one. Thanks in advance. I'm using the 1.03 b70 version. raid 5 settings.
