DIR-880L - Can't connect to college apps domain

Hi Folks,

Can't connect wirelessly to https://apps.sunybroome.edu .. the browser times out. Can connect to sunybroome.edu fine. After various trials and tests, discovered it is something with the DIR-880L wireless settings. If I connect directly to my cable modem (bypassing the router) it works.
By default both the 2.4 and 5 GHz have security mode WPA/WPA-2 Personal with all the other defaults apart from the SSIDs/pws.

I upgraded the firmware from the latest I could download from dlink.com.
I tried setting each of the channels to security mode WEP instead but the PCs could not connect (dunno why).

I reset the router to factory defaults and went thru the wizard to set everything back up as it was.

Still cannot connect to that website thru the wireless.

Any suggestions (apart from buying a new router)? Haven't run into this with any other websites that I know of.

Update: Can't connect when hooked up directly to the 880L either. So something with the 880L, not necessarily its wireless settings.

What device do you have connected to the wifi?
Change the security mode on the 880L to disable temporarily. Connect the device to the SSID of the 880L, doe the device get internet access here and to that link? After testing, set back to WPA2 Personal.
Disable Smart Connect and set different SSID names for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Set a manual channel, 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz.
Set WPA2 Personal.

I can see the log in page for that link you posted:

We are trying to connect with Lenovo Ideapad 310 running W10 using Firefox. Again it works locally on campus wifi and at Grandfathers house wifi.

Smart Connect was not enabled to begin with. If I enable it, only the 2.4Ghz shows in the admin page.

We tried disabling security on the 5GHz, still can't connect. Turned WPA2 back on.
Renamed both 2.4 and 5 to different SSIDs with 2.4 on channel 11 (both with WPA2 enabled). could not connect.

I tried turning Smart Connect ON so that only the 2.4GHz was available.. could not connect.

I appreciate the help, any thing else to try?
