Title: DAP 1155 dropping
Post by: amster3 on January 10, 2014, 01:08:52 PM
Hi,

I recently purchased a DAP 1155 to use as a bridge to a D-Link DSL 2750U Router.

Initially I had problems getting the AP setup until I updated the Firmware - worked fine.

The issue now is that it drops the wireless network every few hours. After powering the AP off and turning on again, it works fine immediately. I have two hardware units running off the ethernet ports through the bridge that then drop each time the router drops the network.

I have read through all the forum topics on the DAP 1155 and tried most of the things - nothing seems to stabilise the connection.

Any help would be most appreciated!

What is the distance between the DAP and DSL modem?

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
6" minimum safe distance between devices.

Harware: A1
Firmware: 1.01
South Africa
Distance 6m - minimal obstruction.

DSL:
1. Modes- 802.11n/EWC = Auto --- 802.11n only = off
2. 2.4Ghz - on auto
3. 40Mhz
4. channel 6
5. WPA only - TKIP + AES
6. laptops and phones connected - 6 devices
7. no cordless phones
8. 1 other router nearby.

Router well placed.

All I can think of is switching down to 20Mhz - would that be important?

Anything else to look at?

Can you test the DAP closer to the main host router, say 3-4m as a test?
