Keep us posted.

What is your ISP Service? Cable or DSL?
What ISP modem do you have? Stand alone modem or built in router?

Located in Idaho?

Check Status/Logs
The logs don't go back as far as the failure. Maybe they got wiped when I rebooted
Quote
What was the device you had connected when it failed?
At first I thought no device, but I might have had an Android phone on it.  I see another message about Android causing problems.  It is a new phone (Nexus S) and the wifi on the phone side is a bit iffy.  That was one of the reasons I updated my router and network.

I've already made some changes that I'm testing.  I'll monitor things before doing anything else.  If it fails again, I will take the Android phone off the network but leave everything else the same and see if that makes a difference.

OK,
Can you try a different WiFi Device, something non cell phone? Laptop or WiFi desktop something along those lines?

I just submitted a post because I am certain the DIR-615 is crashing when I connect my Motorola Xoom, running Android.
Does Motorola Xoom crash the DIR-615?
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=38313.0

I would say that if you have an Android device that is crashing your router, and I have an Android device that is crashing my router, then one more and it is a confirmed problem!

After much help from this forum and three unproductive calls to D-Link support ... I gave up and bought a Linksys router.  Seems to be working fine, with an Android phone, an iPhone, an iPad, a Windows box and a Mac.  Doesn't have 8 ports though.   :(

I just purchased a DIR-632 and am having similar issues - the router crashing about 1-2x per day; all lights stay on, wifi shuts off and ethernet stays L2 connected but drops the IP address.

I seem to be able to triggers this behavior by running a session of logmein on one of the attached computers.  I'm running the latest firmware (just upgraded) and the router is attached to a corporate network (we're just running a local subnet) - its likely 1-2 firewalls away from the public network.

Any ideas?  Otherwise I'm going to have to take it back to the retailer.

Thx.

What HW version is your router?
What FW version is currently loaded?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA2. Auto TPIK and AES.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area?

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

Lots of questions - let me try:

What HW version is your router? A1
What FW version is currently loaded? 1.01NA (the 7/7/11 version from the support website)

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
 - Its a corporate network behind a firewall that I'm building a subnet on
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? - DHCP
Turn off QoS options. - Done
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option. - Not there
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking. - Done
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router. - Done
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address. - Done
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP. - Done

What wireless modes are you using? - Was default b, g, and n
Try single mode G or mixed G and N? - Just set to g & n mixed mode
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA2. Auto TPIK and AES. - WPA
What wireless devices do you have connected? - (3) Windows PCs, (1) iPad, Canon printer, (2) iPhones and an iPod Touch
Any cordless house phones? - No
Any other WiFi routers in the area? - yes, lots

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. - OK
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing. - Can't do this - we're in a production environment

Will let you know if this works - have been seeing crashes ~1-2x per day prior to this.

If you have lots of other WiFi in the are, could be a reason why the router is stopping or need rebooting, it cant find a open channel and maintain signal.

Also for future reference, please post in the 635 forum as it is closest in features for your 632 router.
Thank you.

Didn't fix it.  Three strikes and its out - back to the retailer; got a Linksys router that I've had good luck at home with.
