Title: DIR842 internet connectivity issue
Post by: spnair on May 29, 2020, 09:07:06 PM
I have a DIR842 router connected to fiber optic modem. Router was working perfectly with dual band wifi. It started showing an issue recently when rebooted (due to power failure or internet connection failure from service provider). I had to reconfigure each time to get the connection back. I went thru the Wizard to configure and then manually configure DNS, Service Provider Name and MTU. This worked for each restart until last Friday and now it stopped working. One rebooted, the power, internet and wifi LEDs are green, but going to 192.168.0.1 shows internet not connected. Contacted Dlink Tech support. I was told to update the firmware (which was set to automatically update and it was the latest version 3.13). I was then told to set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and also clone the MAC address and then power cycle both modem and router. None of these worked and I am still at the same point where the wizard finds the internet connection and setup completes showing power, internet and WIFI LED in green, but the router home page saying no Internet. Please help.
