Update:

Update: I have been in contact with Dlink multiple times and the result is that we never found out what was wrong. Instead Dlink sent me a new 935L as the the camera we was testing with died upgrading the firmware. I have now bought a new D-link accespoint (DIR-605L) and my second 935L has no problem with this accespont so what I can conclude is that the new firmware is not working very well with non-dlink accespoints.

However, I have now experienced a new problem with the 935L: Poor wireless performance, I will make a new topic concerning this.

Regards

You might want to try a better DIR series router. The 605L is ok however may not be a good for Wifi and range.

I was too early, camera is still locking up. Not able to access the video-stream or the web-interface after some time. Camera is still on on the network as I can ping the camera. Only this problem with the new firmware.

This 935L is simple not worth the money.

And new firmware (1.05) is out today, lets see if it solves anything.

935L is staying online now.

But issue with poor wireless performance still remails (see other topic).

Hi!

Any progress?

I have the same disconnect problem with my DCS-935L after firmware upgrade to v1.05.01 through the mydlink Lite Android app. The camera never had this issue before the upgrade but now it disconnects very often. On the last disconnection I could see in the router's system log that it refreshed its IP (DHCP) between 07:21:47 and 09:33:51. After that only the other DCS-932L cameras refreshed their IP's.

The camera system log seems to be cleared on boot so I cannot see anything there.
I'm able to ping the camera, but not access it through the web admin interface. The mydlink Lite Android app lists it as offline.

I'm using:
Camera name: DCS-935L
Firmware Version: v1.05.01
Hardware version: A
Agent version: 2.0.19-b40
WiFi encryption: WPA2-PSK

Please, set to highest prio!

Is there a way to access it through SSH and fetch more debug logs (since it seems to respond to ping)?

Regards Mikael

Just got my new USED camera from Dlink.

Same story: Very poor wireless performance:
Svar fra 192.168.1.129: byte=32 tid=695ms TTL=64
Svar fra 192.168.1.129: byte=32 tid=203ms TTL=64
Svar fra 192.168.1.129: byte=32 tid=1133ms TTL=64
Svar fra 192.168.1.129: byte=32 tid=101ms TTL=64

There is something very very bad with this camera.

I have now spend so much time with this camera that I don’t know what to do.
To others: DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA. I think DLink should remove the camera from the market.

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?

Only other think you might try is to downgrade the FW on the 935L. Do a factory reset, load the v1.00WW FW manually using IE or FF thru the cameras web page, Let the FW apply, then do one more factory reset and set up from scratch. You need to have the camera LAN wired to the main host router and connect to the IP address the camera gets from the main host router. Use a LAN wired PC as well.
You can get v1.00WW and follow on version here:
http://tsd.dlink.com.tw

Let us know if you see any improvements...
