I actually would like some shareport info as well, I need to use the USB port so i can finally hook up an external USB HD device.  I see the shareport app and have it installed on my client pc, however it does not see the 323.  I suspect this is due in part to no shareport server running on the DNS-323 istelf, making the app useless?  Will there be apkg I can install on my DNS-323 to open the functionality of shareport?

If I could get a usb HD running on my DNS so i dont have to copy my large files over the network it would save me ALOT of time. and i would be mega happy (yup... mega)

Oh, big thanks to D-Link on fw1.08, I appreciate they continue to develop software for my device.

I actually got a sweet PM from another esteemed forum member.  He inidicates the apkg is not yet avail on the US site and provided this link to the UK site.
And, or course, he would be wrong.  From the US FTP site:

File:dns323_shareport_utility_V30_MAC.zip      4643 KB     2/17/2010     11:54:00 PM
File:dns323_shareport_utility_V30_PC.zip      5598 KB    2/18/2010    12:30:00 AM

Sure looks available to me.

Those appear to be the Shareport utility for the PC/Mac side - I think what's missing from the US site is the Shareport APKG, - or are the APKGs included there also?

Interesting question, I thought that was included in the base 1.08 firmware, perhaps I was mistaken?  Perhaps we need D-Link to clarify what is required?

Well - I'm not running the "base 1.08" firmware - but I understand that it is essentially the same as the 1.09 beta - which is what I'm running, and the utility reports no device servers found.

Edit...
Perhaps I should rephrase that -1.09 contains all code up to 1.08b09 - so if Shareport is built in to the base 1.08, it should also be in the 1.09 beta.

I guess we are indeed missing something, that seems like a pretty significant oversight on D-Link's part!  ???

I just downloaded and installed the shareport package from the UK link (since yes its not on the US link) I can now see shareport in the add-ons section of the dns-323 and i started it. But the shareport application on my windows PC doesn't detect anything. Under status in the dns-323 web gui it sees the USB hard drive ... so do we assume this doesn't work? Any one from DLink able to update us here?

I think I'll wait for some folks to get this working.  I can't afford to break my print server function for the DNS-323 right now, the laptops all print to that printer.

Just deleted it .. so where is the North American version?

But remember, D-Link tech support level 3 also told me , when i couldn't access (access denied) one of my folders on my DNS-323 to just delete the folder .... and how do you delete afolder you have no access too? So i don't 100% trust D-Link tech support

just got off the phone with level 3 tech support (in reagrds to a different issue) but i asked them about shreport and the uk shareport file for the dns-323
They were honest and said they are not 100% sure that it was rolled out for US/CAN yet. He will check and call me back within 24-36hrs . If i hear back, i will update here
