Gamefuel and QoS are the same. No much difference. The 655 works just as well as the 645 does. I think the 645 does better. The 5 others wont even notice. One thing to consider for future use, 5Ghz support if your in an area congested by 2.4Ghz, IPv6. Which all newer routers support accept for the 6 Series, there 2.4Ghz only. Keep us posted.

BTW, that 655 on ebay looks like a Rev A, I would not get that Rev. Rev B is the Rev you want. Rev Bs have a black front face instead of a while or gray looking one as I believe the one on ebay is. Rev B supports IPv6, Rev A will not and is no longer being developed.

well, i found this... (http://www.gadgettown.com/Switching-Power-Supply-12V-2A.html) and will be giving it a try first... i just need to find a way to ground it... maybe through the Cable on the Cable Modem....

When i can i'll post pictures of my Gateway/Network box i have outside... i know, outside = bad place, but due to demand i had to install it there.

I would recommend an OEM power supply. Any DLink 12v 2A will work. Even ones from there DLink routers, just not the DIR-645. It's a 5A.

it is locked up in a security lock box with an AC 120mm fan mounted to it pumping the hot air through it... the fan is a new addition, used to be just the box, the Modem was the hottest thing in there, but now it doesn't get so hot, thanks to the fan, but yes, outside, and thankfully, the humidity doesn't get high around here.

i got the switching power supply for 12.99 hopefully this fixes the issue, if not, then i'll have a spare 12vdc 2A switching power supply laying around... i agree getting another DGL-4500 would seem to be a much better bargain but, mine is unique.  When i get Flagship running again, it will be that much better to me.

got the power supply, and the only thing i can assume now is that with the failing power supply when i did the firmware downgrade something didn't quite finish, so now i can't do anything with it, the power supply is supposed to be 12VDC however i'm getting 11.5VDC 1.5 more than the DLink adapter, and it still won't act properly, so, i am asking this new question, is there an alternative method to reprogram this device?

Unfortuneately, unlike the DIR series, there isnt a recovery mode for the DGL. At least that is known.  :(
