mnuzzi:
Hi all,
i wish i could use mydilink app when i'm connected via vpn to my lan where is the camera but app says i'm not connected to wifi. Is there a workaround to use the app without connecting to a wifi?

GreenBay42:
What VPN are you using? Is the endpoint your router at home?

Is the device running the app able to connect to browse the internet ok?

On the mydlink app on the page that lists all your devices, select Local and see if that works.

mnuzzi:
I'm using OpenVPN that comes with my Netgear R7000 that is at home. My phone can connect to internet and to pcs in my lan but mylink app checks if i'm connected to a wifi and says "wireless connection not found". I want to use mobile data connection and I don't want to register to dlink cloud to use my camera.

GreenBay42:
How did you log into the mydlink Lite app without a mydlink account?

Ive never seen the mydlink lite app give a "cannot connect to WiFi" message before. It can connect using mobie/3g/4g without Wi-Fi.

FurryNutz:
If you want to use the cell service and not the WIFI, disable or turn OFF the wireless radio while your at home.

You have to have a mydlink account to use the mydlink apps from what I know to be able to connect with cameras associated with the MDL services.

If not then you can use other D-Link apps like JustConnect+ or D-View Cam or D-Link Camera. There maybe 3rd party apps available as well that don't need MDL services support.
