Title: DIR-860L Password/Wi-Fi problem
Post by: gucci39 on September 12, 2017, 01:10:00 PM
Hello everyone, sorry if the topic isn't for here.
In a few weeks ago im getting problem with my WiFi via my smartphone. I have trouble with connection to my 2.4GHz, the problem is that I'm connecting "hard"
 to my router and if i am connected in few minutes my internet connection is going down. And i tried to enter in my router from my PC but i can't log in. I tried every password which I wrote on my list with usernames and passwords, also tried default user/password but unfortunately it didn't help me. I saw on internet how to reset the router to default settings. I held up the RESET button for 10+ seconds,  the first "lamp" on the router startedd to flash in orange color. Suddenly stop flashing and i did not have internet, reboot everything possible and I fixed it. Unfortunately I checked from my smartphone that my router names(2,4GHz and 5GHz) are same like before, I think i did not reset the router correctly. In other wi-fi connections I do not have problems with it. On my father's smartphone he is connecting without problem but he can't see the 5GHz "hotspot" unlike me. My previous router was TP-Link and i did not have problem with him, but when i changed my router I started to have problems with connections, unfortunateley as like I said I already cannot connect on my Wi-Fi, also in my router.

My smartphone is Lenovo K5 Note.

Please any suggestions ?  :)

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

Can you connect a wired LAN cable PC to the router and log in there? log in will be admin and password will be blank.

Nothing work, or just Im not doing the things right. When I try to connect to my 2,4GHz or especially to 5GHz, i'm getting "problem with the certificate". If i have "luck" and successfully connect to my net it will slows down the connection till disappearance.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. You may have a faulty unit. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

@FurryNutz

I fixed the problem with the password, but unfortunately my internet speed isn't fast. I think something isn't working properly, I mean that the speed of my internet via smartphone is terrible. It holds 100 B/s, after that 1,36 KB/s or something like that and suddenly turn down to 0 B/S and the speed being so slowly. I can't watch streams/videos or anything else because they cannot load at all. My ISP is Blizoo Media and broadband ead, Bulgaria. One friend told me that it could be problem from them.

Could they change any script on the router or something like that because we're paying for 200mb/s internet(the router is not bought from them)?
Also could they tell me the router's password because I do not have access to my router - forgot the password.

P.S I do not understand a lot about this stuff but could it be from the changing the service packages ?
