Title: DCS-852L wont turn on
Post by: servis on May 11, 2017, 03:21:08 AM
Hi, I need help with one DCS-852L, camera wont turn on.

When connected to power supply it is pulling 5V 0.30A, and power is reacting on cameras power switch. When connected to UART / TTL nothing is happening. I tried different pinouts and boundrate speeds, but nothing.

Is it possible that the boot loader is corrupted, and if yes, is there any way to repair it?

Regards

IF this fails, I presume the camera is dead:

I don't know if hard wired (usb to computer UART or TTL) communication is possible with this camera.
Try looking for a wifi wireless connection like DCS_825L_xxxx, the wifi password should be listed on the camera plastic.
(Also you might try a D-link or similar 5v 2 amp usb power supply.)

If wifi works, the IP address would be like
http://10.255.255.1/eng/mainFrame.cgi

(Also if you see an unsecured open wifi network, like RT2860, do not connect to that network.
The camera makes that when first booting up but then changes to the secured DCS_825L_.... )
