what? i have 1.32, download it and update it now.

I installed 1.33NA not realising that isn't intended for Europe, but it has ironically improved the router a lot.. it's been stable for days now.

I've updated to the 1.32EUb01 yesterday and cannot identify any problems atm. I'm just wondering, why it's only available on the french ftp - neither the uk nor the german ftp have it on. It looks always like a paperchase for me to get the most up to date firmware. -.-
I didn't trust the NA-fw - the specification of it and the legal environment of the europe countries may differ from northern america (especially wifi and it's frequencies). I don't want to get in trouble with legal authorities.
What's the advantage of the NA-fw compared to the european 1.32?

Another question is: why does the setup page of the router say you have the latest firmware while this isn't the case at all? I will never buy a D-link router again.

probably your version is the latest available in your country.
1.32eu is only available in some countries.

I'm from the UK, should I really be using the 1.33NA version? I didn't realise it was for USA, I just went to the D-Link site and got it from there...

As far as I know - and as far as I've read it anywhere in this forum -, the latest firmware check works only for the NA-fw. The american server provides only NA-fw, so you'll never find a latest european firmware on it.

I'm not realy sure, you may read some topics in this forum. All I really read, was that you might get problems if you want to roll back to european firmware from the american one.

I am not really able to update to anything. The router itself says I have the most current one. 1.21EU. I tried to download the 1.33 NA and manyally choosing the bin fine with no luck. The same with 131EUB02. Do I have to do anything MORE than click update, let the PC upload the file and that reboot the router? Do I have to reset it or something?

I had the same problem while upgrading from 1.21 to a higher version. The problem is the 1.21 fw - it has some problems with the saving of settings. My solution was as follows:
1) reset and reboot the router
2) immidiately upgrade to the new firmware
and that worked with mine.
You may need first to upgrade to a lower version like 1.30EUB08 before upgrading to the newest one, 1.32EUB01.

Thank you very much! Will try this later. Extremely frustrating that you can not save any settings nor change the firmware. :)
edit: worked like a charm! thanks again

you have not answered my question.
1.34WW is still the newest firmware?
-
you have not answered my question.
1.34WW is still the newest firmware?
YES. What the Dlink site offers for download is always the latest non-beta version. So from now on you can check for yourself.
-
the most stable firmware for EU is 1.31EU
in 1.32EU the remote administration doesn't work
1.34WW is actually a NA firmware and therefore is not very legal in EU and it's beta.
the german dlink ftp has always the latest firmware first.
that's all from me.
any further comments are welcome.
-
WW is not NA firmware. you may use the WW in the EU Country. WW is World Wide firmware what will be used in all countries, but not in North America (NA)
-
And it is not illegal. All channels are allowed in Europe. It's other regions that restrict channel 13.
