Time Resetting
« on: March 23, 2012, 08:54:35 AM »

On one of my cameras time keeps resetting as if power was turned off then on again. It happens 2-3 times a day. Anyone have this problem? I think there is no way to resolve it other than replace the camera.

In the Web UI under SETUP > Time and Date there's an option to automatically synchronize the time/date from a user defined NTP server. Have you tested this functionality?

I saw that but haven't tried it yet. I don't always keep the computer on and recording. Only when I am gone. Wll take a look.

Selecting an NTP server should automatically keep the time in sync without the need to poll your PC.

Java Lawyer,

We tried using this feature.   However we lost power.  (Happens a few times a year).   When the camera turned back on it lost the correct time and didn't recover.

Should the camera recover the time after a power loss?

Thanks

If you set NTP option, it should get the time from the NTP server. May be that the problem is the NTP server itself. Have you tried another NTP server? I don't use the standard NTP server, I'm using an italian NTP server, never faced problems with it.
