Lan Dropping Out Connect with WiFi D-link Mesh
« on: January 04, 2022, 12:34:40 AM »

Hi there,

Just got an issue with my CORV-X1870 (three pack) mesh routers.

I'm somewhat beginner at routers and networks but please let me pose a question below and see if anyone can point me in the right direction (or ever narrow my questions).

I have one of the above mesh towers used as a router. From there I have two of the above being used as satellites (called upstairs and downstairs). The router is placed in a cupboard that has ethernet RC45 that run to various rooms in the house (internet / ethernet connection from the fibre box in the garage is also in this cupboard). The upstairs satellite is fine (connects via WiFi), but the downstairs one I'm have an issue with. Its connected through the ethernet cable (From the Router to RC45 in the cupboard, connect to the RC45 connection downstairs). Upon checking the connections (http://covr.local./) I do see the downstairs satellite is connected (LAN_MeshExtrender) but at times I check and its changed it connection to WiFi_5G-MeshExtender and connected to the upstairs satellite. This causes slow down in the internet downstairs.

Just wondering what could be causing this, could potentially be the RC45 plug downstairs as it seems a little loose when its connected to the cable (networking is 20 years old). Anything else I should be looking at? The downstairs extender is used for mobile devices and also connected to the a TV via ethernet directly from the extender.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Happy New Years!!
