Speed issues
« on: September 06, 2011, 12:03:57 AM »

I don't know, if it's Beta firmware dependent or not, but I measured very low speeds when running the built in torrent client:

NAS performance tester 1.2 http://www.808.dk/?nastester
Running warmup...
Running a 400MB file write on drive N: 5 times...
Iteration 1:     4,55 MB/sec
Iteration 2:     4,37 MB/sec
Iteration 3:     4,31 MB/sec
Iteration 4:     4,49 MB/sec
Iteration 5:     4,75 MB/sec
------------------------------
Average (W):     4,49 MB/sec
------------------------------
Running a 400MB file read on drive N: 5 times...
Iteration 1:     5,88 MB/sec
Iteration 2:     6,36 MB/sec
Iteration 3:     5,71 MB/sec
Iteration 4:     6,2 MB/sec
Iteration 5:     5,77 MB/sec
------------------------------
Average (R):     5,98 MB/sec
------------------------------

And when the client is turned off:

Running a 400MB file write on drive N: 10 times...
Iteration 1: 23,45 MB/sec
Iteration 2: 22,33 MB/sec
Iteration 3: 21,05 MB/sec
Iteration 4: 20,17 MB/sec
Iteration 5: 22,93 MB/sec
Iteration 6: 24,48 MB/sec
Iteration 7: 23,64 MB/sec
Iteration 8: 24,74 MB/sec
Iteration 9: 23,52 MB/sec
Iteration 10: 23,93 MB/sec
------------------------------
Average (W): 23,02 MB/sec
------------------------------
Running a 400MB file read on drive N: 10 times...
Iteration 1: 29,81 MB/sec
Iteration 2: 35,77 MB/sec
Iteration 3: 34,37 MB/sec
Iteration 4: 32,74 MB/sec
Iteration 5: 35,18 MB/sec
Iteration 6: 33,13 MB/sec
Iteration 7: 37,39 MB/sec
Iteration 8: 35,86 MB/sec
Iteration 9: 37,84 MB/sec
Iteration 10: 36,18 MB/sec
------------------------------
Average (R): 34,83 MB/sec
------------------------------

Anyone else having the same problems?

when the client is running, it is using more ram on the dns.

I believe this is normal.

Does the same thing for me.

seems firmware 202 helps a bit
