Just curious.  I have the same issue with my router.  I have found that the time does not allow the year to go beyond 2012.  If I power down the router and plug it back in, then it stays fine for 10 hours.  The DSL modem is set to renew DHCP and static connections after 10 hours.  I believe my DSL modem is blocking the router because of the incorrect date.

Link>Welcome!
What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?
Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
Has a Factory Reset been performed?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Can you set up the NTP services and see if it keeps correct time?
There is a know issue with the Year expiring at 2012:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=51932.0

Unfortunately, your model router has been phased out so I don't think there will be any fix for this particular model.

Let us know if the NTP services on the router helps any.

Hardware Version: A1
Firmware: Tried both 1.01NA (shipping version) and 1.03NA

Wired to DSL modem (Netgear 7550 or Westell 7550, Netgear bought Westell)

Tried several NTP providers (time.windows.com  time.nist.gov  tock.usno.navy.mil) and there is still no ability to move beyon 2012 in the year.

Guess I must just power down this router and repower it daily until D-Link addresses the firmware issue or I purchase a new router.

Is the DSL modem in bridged mode or operating in normal modem/router mode?

If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
Double NAT
To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.
If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.

This could be one reason why NTP services are not updating properly.
