Author Topic: iphone 4 does not automatically reconnect to wireless network after waking up  (Read 7166 times)

I log onto other wireless networks the first time by inputting their passwords. My iphone then always automatically reconnects wirelessly to them without have to input the password again. The phone can be asleep for a few minutes or I can be gone for a month. The phone always automatically remembers & reconnects to these networks.

However, it doesn't work that way with my d-link system @ home.  Everytime the phone sleeps and I wake it up, the wireless connection is lost. There is no automatic reconnection. I have to input the password each time in order to re-establish the wireless link. My printer and laptop seem to stay connected.

Any ideas on d-link settings I need to change in order to get my iphone to automatically connect all the time?

Thanks.

Can you change the security from WEP to WPA or WPA2? WPA modes are preferred.

Thanks for the security tip. I changed settings from WEP to WPA...

Security Mode : WPA Personal
WPA Mode : WPA2 Only

Unfortunately, iphone still has same reconnection issue. I log in & it connects but does not stay connected if the phone sleeps and the I try to reconnect.

do you have any devices that use N? Can use Mixed G and N if you do have N supported devices. Recommend using Single mode G if you don't. A and B aren't used much anymore so no need to broadcast modes that your not using or supported by devices.

Good to know about A/B/G/N. Since I don't have any N devices I changed to G only. Same problem w/the iphone, however. Any more ideas??

Thanks.
