Title: Only getting 144mbps from DAP-1320
Post by: RPMCGB on March 01, 2014, 01:17:58 PM
I have looked in so many places and am turning to this forum for help with a  few D-Link issues we have.

Should I be getting 300mbps (potential) from the DAP-1320?  It works great but we constantly check and are only seeing 144mbps.

Thanks

Are your connecting client device and main host router HW supporting of 300Mb? Please refer to the devices Mfr support site for help and information regarding that.

What FW is loaded on the DAP?

Now that I've got my DIR-826L going, the DAP-1320 will not work with it.  It worked great with the DIR-645, we were just looking to maximize speed if possible with it.

I completed the WPS set-up on the 1320 with the 826L and the light is solid green, but I cannot hook up to it?  I can see it in my wifi manager, just can't connect to it.  It should be noted that prior to syncing it with the 826L I could at least connect to it, but not get any web access whatsoever.  Any thoughts?

Hardware on it is A1
Firmware is 1.00

I would disable WPS on the router. Setup normal SSID name for the main host router, single mode N, WPA2/AES only and manual channel 11 if nobody else is using it near by. Then do a factory reset on the DAP and connect to the DAP with a PC or Laptop and use the DAPs wizard to connect to the DIR-826L...

You are several revs behind on FW. If the above fails, I recommend that you update FW on the DAP using the following and try that procedure again after the last factory reset after the FW loads:

Before I saw this post I went into it a bit further and tried the WPS set-up again.  Again no luck despite the "solid green light".  I couldn't get into the DAP-1320 set-up either. I tried the windows wifi manager and nothing and went into my other wifi manager and first changed the security designation to WPA2 which let me put in the factory default password for the 1320 and it worked.

Would I still be wise to disable the WPS on the router and update the firmware or should I leave well enough alone?

Side note: getting better Mbps on the 1320 now, if that makes any sense whatsoever...

Now I am hoping to turn the 645 into an access point from the 826L to get decent full coverage in all areas.  Also going to hard wire the 826L to my main system as I've already went to the hassle of running the 75' of cable.

I'd test with WPS disabled and manually connect the DAP to the SSID instead.

You can use the 645 as a wired AP:

I saw the DAP-1320 increased in speed as it was...only since I turned the 645 into an AP (for upstairs) wired to the 826L, my coverage is insane!  I unplugged the DAP-1320 and will use it again I'm sure.  Thanks for the insight once again!!

I have one more question but I will post in another area.
