Installing drivers for Win 7 64 bit
« on: March 11, 2010, 07:14:58 AM »

Hi guys,

Just updated to a new desktop running Win 7 64-bit.

My old Netgear USB adaptor no use, so after research opted for a D-Link DWA-131

The problem I have is that I can't load the drivers. I insert the disc - setup.exe wont run automatically so I prod it by using Computer etc, it opens a window, I accept the EULA, and then the Windows Installer window opens but immediately crashes.

Does it repeatedly!!

Is this an issue with 64-bit Windows??

Grateful for any thoughts.

Hi Guys,

After digging around Msoft's support pages, I disabled User Account Controls then I was able to Browse to the driver on the D-Link CD and start the driver installation manually.

Works a treat.
