868 VS 865 , how does it compare???
« on: May 16, 2013, 04:35:37 PM »

Furry, I am jealous, you have the router and it looks to be great. How does it compare to the 865-L, is there any significant wireless strength???

Wireless AC raw video file test with DIR-865L in bridge mode:
Blade Runner Directors Cut Blu Ray Raw files on a Windows 7 x64 3Tb drive>24pt Gb switch>DIR-868L>Wireless Bridge (18-19ft btwn)<DIR-865L in bridge mode>8pt Gb switch>boxeebox>TV=WOW.  :o :o :o :o :o

I noticed 1 boxee box pause and re-buffer. Could be a a minor network or device interference's as other devices were connected while streaming the movie. Or processing of the data files or applications running on file server.

Changed the movie file to Looper and noticed that buffering started to occur more often. :o( This could be the way the BD data coding differs between the 2 moves. Not sure yet.

Need to test the bridging AC mode with out all the xtra stuff being connected.

Overall, I'm liking the 868L just as much as the 865L.

More testing to do.  ::)

Nice Furry. Jealous you have the unit already. Amazon has it for sale, I think I'm going to wait a bit till it reaches the Fry's. For now I am happy with the 865-L.

Will continue and look forward to all your testing on the new unit.

BTW do you know what  hardware is on the 868???
