The All Accounts Checkbox issue has been fixed with the Beta FW 1.08 Build 05.

Now another issue surfaced:

it is not possible to access any public share on the DNS-323 e.g. from my HDX1000 via SMB. I needed to setup a Username and Password to access it working again (Latest Beta 1.08 Build 05 Release).

No Change on the HDX1000.

This was working under FW 1.07.

The post is for the DNS-321 - issue is basically the same as we are discussing here ...

Seems we are going in circles. I used to change the samba access mode by editing a saved config from the nas and reapplying it - that fixed all access issues for me (HDX1000 public, updates public, backup private). This change was referred to "hacking"

by D-Link. Well ... fact is, since Beta 1.08 the config file is binary and cannot be easily changed ... so not a solution anymore.

The feature of unprotected guest accounts is now changed and limited to Open / Public Mode as posted here by D-Link Multimedia Technical Engineer

I use the NAS for deploying updates and storing backups. Backups are restricted while Updates should be  public. It is kind of a problem to access two shares on the same network device with different accounts from windows ... I think thats a well known limitation of Windows.
