Hi,

I have installed one 160GB Hitachi 2,5" disk (model : HTS545016B9A300) since 2 weeks in Normal mode.

My DNS-320 is now installed with 2 disks of 160GB in 2,5".

- Seagate ST9160314AS
- Hitachi HTS545016B9A300

T° with Fan "STOP" is 26°C /78°F in DNS-320 and theses 2 disks are very quiet.

I bought the DNS-320 along with the following drive, it has worked flawlessly on FW 2.02.

Western Digital WD30EZRX Caviar Green 3 TB SATA III 64 MB Cache Bare/OEM Desktop Hard Drive, JBOD, 3 Months.  I have had zero issues thus far.  My data transfer speed is limited by network configuration but I can hit 3MB+ with 802.11n connections.  No issues streaming hardwired to the PS3.  I am running ffun with Twonky media server. 

For some reason the price on these shot up recently.  I plan on buying a second 3TB and converting to a Raid arrangement.

Hello,

I am planning to buy the DNS-320 but I am concerned with the HDD compatibility issues.

I would like to setup a RAID-1 with two 1TB drives. However, I find that none of the "D-link tested" drives are available to purchase anymore.

Are there any recent 1TB drives tested and approved by D-Link?

For example, I saw Seagate ST1000DM003. Is it compatible? Or WD WD10EALX? Is it compatible?

According to what I read WD's Advanced Formatting Technology is a no-go in DNS-320.

Are there any other technologies potentially present in recent HDDs that I should avoid? Particualrly with Seagate drives since Seagate and WD are the ones most easily available to me.

What's the story with 4kb sectors? Is that something I should avoid as well or it's a no-issue is I allign them properly?

This is partially true.  The WD drives that have AFT available do not require you to format that way, it's optional.  With that being said, I am using a 3GB green drive with AFT available.  I popped it into the DNS-320, it was instantly recognized and formatted by D-link to access all 3TB of space.  I'm 3+ months with zero issues.

My understanding is that it's anissue in RAID configuration, not a stand alone setup.

Is D-link still testing new drives or did they give up on testing at this point?

Since 1  months in Normal mode.
