Does this beta include the changes that were in the UK release of 1.08b9 for fan control?  Are these the same firmware, or are you running different code bases?

Are there any projected prices for the on-line backup service?

Do you have any idea of projected prices for the on-line backup?

I do not have that information right now as this is still in its beta stage. When we prepare to launch final pricing will be set. For now we would like to see what type of interest users have or comments on integrating it into our device.

OK.  I guess I'll wait and see what happens.  I don't want to get interested in a service like this and then find out it's prohibitively expensive. :)

so obviously D-Link isn't interested in fixing the existing issues like incremental backups from many firmwares ago.  They are just interested in trying to create new features, which is great if all the old features were working 100%,  and as gunrunner mentioned don't list the prices, what is that all about?????

Does this mean that there will not be a 1.08 "final" version released?

So, as I read it, 1.09b1 is really the 1.08 final with the on-line backup added?

Oh, I REALLY like this new functionality

Some questions though,

1) Any reason I should not use this FW as I am located in EU and CTeras links direct you to the DLINK-North America site with their "do not use outside of North America" warnings

2) If I get involved in the beta of 1.09 and the beta continues for longer than 30 days, what happens? (i.e the ctera offer is for 30 days free)

3) Pricing would indeed be good to know as soon as possible

4) Hmm... this porbably has more to do with Ctera than Dlink: Any regional differences where the cloud servers are located, i.e are all the servers in north america or is there an EU option?

Very interesting indeed... will have to check this out during the weekend.

It would be great if the online backup could be more than 10 GB's.  That is simply not enough for me....

Any plans for more space?

Hmm, where do you get that 10GB from? The only reference to storage size I could find was "Allowed data types: Unlimited file size and file type" on the dlink.ctera.com "Features" page (https://dlink.ctera.com/ServicesPortal/DLINK/specifications.html). Mind you, I have not signed up for the free trial yet...

It would indeed be unfortunate if the 10Gb limit stands, as that is not sufficient for my needs either.

The amount of storage offered by CTERA at different price points will be interesting to see when this information comes available. As a comparison I have my ISP, which offers me 50Gb for 5€/month (first 6 months free) with access via ftp.

Once you register for the trial, you will see the 10 GB limit...  Hopefully, there are other options.   :)
